Prime Minister Tony Blair said that the NATO-led mission in Afghanistan is “absolutely critical” for world security, as the military alliance expanded its role there. Flanked by Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen of Finland, which contributes troops to the mission, Blair told reporters in London Thursday that everybody was better off now, despite the renewed fighting between NATO-led troops and Taliban rebels.
