Heavy firing broke out on Wednesday in the heart of Srinagar, the main city in Indian Kashmir, witnesses said. The firing, believed to be an attack on a security camp by suspected Islamist militants, began at 11.30 a.m. (0600 GMT) in the heavily congested market area of Lal Chowk.
