A strike at coal mines which feed Mittal Steel’s Temirtau steel factory in Kazakhstan, one of the biggest in the world, has slightly reduced steel output, a source at Mittal said on Saturday. A blast at one of the mines near the city of Karaganda in the centre of the Central Asian state last week killed 41 miners. Workers at all eight of the mines are now on strike, demanding better pay and safety standards, Unions said. Full Story
