Two Colombian brothers who founded the world’s largest drugs cartel have pleaded guilty to conspiring to smuggle more than 200,000kg of cocaine into the United States. As part of an agreement that would spare several of their relatives from prosecution, Gilberto and Miguel Rodriguez Orejuela entered their pleas before a Miami court on Tuesday. The brothers founded the Cali cartel in the Colombian city of that name and ran a vast empire that supplied most of the cocaine sold in the United States in the early 1990s. Full Story
