The memoirs of Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf have reopened old wounds in neighbouring India and reinforced perceptions of the military ruler as a man who cannot be trusted. Officials declined to comment immediately on the memoirs, published on Monday, but privately bridled at his criticism of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s sincerity and flexibility in pursuing the peace process between the neighbours.
