French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy said on Sunday that as far as he knew al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was still alive. “To my knowledge Osama bin Laden is not dead,” Douste-Blazy said on LCI Television. However, Douste-Blazy said he had not seen a French secret service report printed in a French regional newspaper saying that Saudi Arabia was convinced bin Laden had died of typhoid in Pakistan last month.
