NATO aircraft have killed 23 suspected insurgents in southern Afghanistan, the military alliance said Sunday. A helicopter attacked 20 insurgents who shot at a NATO patrol in Helmand province on Friday, killing 15 of the suspected insurgents, the alliance said. An attack helicopter fired on another group of insurgents who shot at a support helicopter in the same province on Thursday, killing eight of the militants, the statement said.
