South African President Thabo Mbeki still has two and half years in office, but the battle over who will succeed him is already heating up. Much of the fuel has been provided by fired Deputy President Jacob Zuma. A judge on Wednesday dismissed corruption charges against Zuma, giving an emotional boost to his supporters, but not dispelling the cloud over him.
