At least 12 people including eight suspected Islamic militants were killed in separate incidents in restive Kashmir, police and the army said. Four Islamic rebels were shot dead near the heavily-militarised Line of Control (LoC) de facto border between India and Pakistan in northern Kashmir, army spokesman Colonel Hemant Joneja told AFP. “The four were killed after they infiltrated into our (Indian Kashmir) territory from across the LoC,” he said, adding the operation was still continuing.
