Swedish PM loses to centre-right coalition
Swedish Prime Minister Goeran Persson and his Social Democratic Party lost legislative elections by a thin margin to a centre-right coalition headed by 41-year-old newcomer Fredrik Reinfeldt. The four-party opposition Alliance for Sweden was credited with 48.1 percent of votes, while the Social Democrats and their allies, the Left and the Greens, garnered 46.2 percent with votes in 99 percent of electoral districts counted.
