Yemeni tribesmen holding four French tourists hostage threatened Tuesday to kill them if troops attempt to storm their hideout in a mountainous region in eastern Yemen, tribal officials close to the negotiations said. Tribesmen kidnapped the Frenchmen on Sunday in Shabwa province, east of the capital San’a, as they were headed south to the port city of Aden in a convoy of tourists. The incident is the latest in a long series of kidnappings by tribesman to win concessions from the Yemeni government. The tribesmen are demanding the release of imprisoned relatives. Full Story
