Hundreds of protesters have marched on Britain’s biggest coal-fired power station in a bid to shut down what they say is the country’s biggest single emitter of carbon dioxide. The demonstrators set up camp over the weekend near the Drax power station in northern England ahead of Thursday’s day of “creative mass action” to close the site. Using around 10 million tonnes of coal a year, Drax produces 4,000 megawatts of electricity, or about seven percent of Britain’s total. Full Story
