Indian troops shot dead three suspected Islamic militants in two gunbattles in revolt-hit Kashmir, while the rebels allegedly shot dead a woman and a policeman, police said. Two of the militants were killed in mountainous Kangan area, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) northeast of the summer capital Srinagar late Wednesday, while a third rebel was shot dead in southern Anantnag district around the same time.
