A suspected attempted bombing caused panic outside the British General Consulate in Istanbul on Wednesday evening. Passersby alerted the police after they noticed a suspicious-looking package left outside the British Consulate in the Tepebasi quarter of Istanbul. The area in question was sealed off to the public and bomb squad members carried out an initial examination of the package. They decided to carry out a controlled explosion on the package. Full Story
