Chad hands over rebels to keep the peace

Chad handed over five Darfur rebels to African Union mediators on Thursday as part of a new diplomatic agreement to improve relations with Sudan, officials said. The rebels, from the Justice and Equality Movement and the Sudanese Liberation Movement, were seized Tuesday. An unknown number of rebels have also been held at Abeche town, about 885km east of the capital, N’djamena. Full Story
