Italian police called off an alert over a British airliner diverted to Brindisi airport for a bomb scare on Friday, caused by a note found by a passenger which said there was a bomb on board. “The alarm has been called off because it was just a matter of this note, but checks are still under way,” said Brindisi border police chief Salvatore de Paolis to Sky Italia TV.
