The Chechen government retracted its claim Friday that separatist rebel leader Doku Umarov had surrendered, saying it was Umarov’s younger brother who turned himself in. Government spokesman Lyoma Gudayev said the younger Umarov turned himself in at the residence of Chechen Prime Minister Ramzan Kadyrov in Gudermes, Chechnya’s second-largest city. Full Story
