Sri Lankan forces and Tamil Tiger rebels continue to clash in northern Jaffna peninsula. In six days of fighting the government says 88 soldiers have been killed. Schools have been closed across the country amid fears of a rebel attack. The move follows the controversial bombing of an alleged former orphanage on Monday in Tiger-held territory.
