Israel’s pounding of Hezbollah positions across Lebanon expanded Friday with missiles targeting bridges in the Christian heartland north of Beirut for the first time, an attack that further isolates Lebanon from the outside world. An Israeli airstrike hit dozens of farm workers loading vegetables near the Lebanon- Syria border, the workers’ foreman said. Rabei al-Jabali said about 40 of the Lebanese and Kurdish laborers were taken to a hospital in Syria, because roads had been cut off by Israeli attacks earlier Friday.
