Police are investigating a bomb attack on a home in the south-eastern town of Heerlen on Wednesday night. The Fire Brigade originally thought a Molotov cocktail was thrown at the house on the Mesdagstraat. But a police spokesperson said on Thursday that the blast was caused by a more powerful explosive device. Local people heard a “gigantic” explosion at about 23.30pm. It blew away the door of one of the terraced houses and dislodged the front door of a neighbour’s home. Windows of houses on the other side of the street were also shattered. Full Story
