Thousands of supporters of Mexico’s leftist presidential candidate camped out in the center of Mexico’s chaotic capital early Monday, vowing not to leave until the top electoral court rules on their demands for a recount of disputed elections. Andres Lopez Obrador, who claims fraud robbed him of victory, set up his tent the day before in the city’s main Zocalo plaza, joining thousands of supporters. Others pitched dozens of makeshift camps along the tree-lined Reforma boulevard, braving chilly rain and blocking most traffic on one of the main arteries in this megalopolis of 20 million people.
