Feds move to share intelligence faster
National intelligence analysts will work side-by-side with state and local agents in four states in a new effort to improve information sharing about terrorism and disaster response, the Homeland Security Department will announce today. Teams of Homeland Security officers will eventually be assigned to all of the nation’s 38 “fusion” centers, where law enforcement agents investigate tips, tighten security and handle disasters, said Charles Allen, the department’s chief intelligence officer.
