26 villagers killed in rebel in India

Hundreds of suspected communist rebels attacked a government-run relief camp and two police stations Monday in eastern India, killing at least 26 villagers. Four rebels also died. Police and paramilitary forces repelled nearly 500 rebels armed with guns and machetes in a two-hour battle in Chattisgarh state, said Girdhari Naik, the inspector-general of police. Full Story
