Any improvement in Lebanese-Syrian relations seemed further out of reach on Monday after the March 14 Forces lashed out at Syrian President Bashar Assad for derogatory comments he made about Lebanon. Telecommunication Minister Marwan Hamade accused Syria of having questionable intentions toward Lebanon and of disrespecting its premier. “The invitation was sent as if it were a summons, which is an improper thing to do to the prime minister of Lebanon,” the minister said in reference to an invitation extended for Siniora to visit Damascus.
