Danish Security Chief Jesper Helsø was among those struck by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan on Friday morning. The lightly armoured vehicle Helsø was travelling in was damaged by the bomb but none of the envoy members suffered injuries. The convoy was travelling approximately 20 km outside of Feyzabad, in the southern region of the country, en route to visit Denmark’s 41 soldiers participating in the Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT). The PRT, a civilian-military cooperation project under German leadership, is working a project to establish clean drinking water for a rural town in the area. Full Story
