Amnesty International called on the EU on Tuesday to make CIA “kidnappings” of terrorist suspects and the closure of the detention camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba central points of Wednesday’s summit in Vienna with US President George W Bush. Amnesty’s Austrian chief Heinz Patzelt said the EU states must unequivocally declare themselves opposed to the practices of the CIA with regard to terrorist suspects and commit themselves to preventing further abductions or the operating of secret prisons in Europe.
