Filipino admits smuggling people into US

A Filipino man has admitted to smuggling about 25 illegal aliens into the United States on stolen third-country passports for which they paid as much as $15,000 each, prosecutors said on Monday. Roehl Rivera, 41, of Cabanatuan City, Philippines, smuggled the aliens between May 2005 and January 2006 on Continental Airlines flights from Hong Kong to Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, according to a statement from Christopher Christie, U.S. attorney for New Jersey.
