Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip fired five rockets towards southern Israel overnight but they did not cause any casualties or damage, an army spokeswoman said. Three of the makeshift and notoriously inaccurate rockets were identified as having landed in Israel — one in the Negev desert town of Sderot, home to Defence Minister Amir Peretz — and two in open fields, she said.
