Enforcing piracy laws with China is part of the U.S. strategy for reducing its trade deficit, Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez said on Wednesday. The United States will use “all the available mechanisms” to protect intellectual property rights, Gutierrez told Reuters in an interview, though he declined to outline the next steps in ongoing disputes with China on piracy and alleged discriminatory tariff practices on auto parts.
