Relatives of Britons killed in the 2002 Bali bombings have spoken of their “great sadness and pain” that Abu Bakar Bashir will be released tomorrow. Bashir, accused of being the spiritual leader of the Jemaah Islamiyah terror organisation, which is linked to al-Qaeda, served 26 months of his 30 month sentence for conspiracy over the blasts that killed 202 people, including 28 from the UK. More than 30 militants have been sentenced in Indonesia for their involvement in the bombings. Last week, Bashir’s lawyer said his 68-year-old client plans to resume teaching at an Islamic school which many of Indonesia’s terrorists. Full Story
