Japan and South Korea have resumed talks on marking their maritime economic zones after a six-year break in a fresh attempt to ease tension tied to war memories. The neighbors dispute the sovereignty of a cluster of islands, named Dokdo in Korea and Takeshima in Japan, which were colonized by Tokyo in the early 20th century but are administered by Seoul.
