A 26-year-old man will appear before a London court accused of a terrorism charge in the United States, the Metropolitan Police said. Syed Hashmi, of no fixed address, was arrested under a provisional extradition warrant on Tuesday evening at London’s main Heathrow airport and taken into custody ahead of the hearing at Bow Street Magistrates Court. The police said in a brief statement that Hashmi would face a charge alleging that between January 1 and March 1, 2004, he received “military gear, intending that it should be used for the purpose of terrorism”.
