Syria said it was “cautiously optimistic” about the outcome of an upcoming UN report on the murder of former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq Hariri, in which Damascus has been implicated. “Let us be cautiously optimistic and say that if this investigation is conducted in a legal and professional manner based on fact, we have nothing to fear,” Syria’s ambassador to Washington, Imad Mustapha, told the Syrian Internet site AllforSyria.
