The Algerian army is besieging 30 Islamic gunmen in east Algeria as part of a bid to crack down on armed groups refusing to join a national reconciliation pact. Daily al-Balad Tuesday quoted a security source as saying that joined forces from internal security and special army forces, backed by paratroopers, are encircling the resisting gunmen in the provinces of Tabsa and Batina.
