British police were scouring an east London house after arresting two men on suspicion of terrorism, including one whom they shot and wounded in a dawn raid. Sky News television reported that forensic experts were searching the house and adjoining property for a chemical device or bomb-making equipment after an intelligence tip-off. The Times newspaper said police suspected the house was a bomb-making factory and were looking for a “chemical vest” that a British suicide bomber was ready to deploy in a terror attack in London.
