An Emirati diplomat held hostage in Iraq has been released without ransom, Emirati authorities said Tuesday. Naji Rashid al-Nuaimi, 28, the first secretary at the United Arab Emirates Embassy, was taken hostage more than two weeks ago by gunmen who shot and killed his Sudanese driver. “Tonight the Emirates diplomat Naji Nuaimi, who was kidnapped on the 16 of May in Baghdad has been released,” Emirati Foreign Minister Sheik Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan was quoted as saying by the official Emirati news agency.
