Three die as international concern mounts over Sri Lanka violence

Three security personnel died in a mine blast, the Sri Lankan military said, as peace broker Norway moved to salvage a collapsing ceasefire that has sparked mounting international concern. Two soldiers and a policeman died in the Claymore mine attack blamed on the rebel Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in the island’s north, military officials said, while in the east the two sides exchanged mortar fire.
