The president of Bolivia’s state energy company said Tuesday it had cut its contract with an American petroleum consultant, contending that the firm had overestimated the nation’s natural gas reserves. “The fundamental thing is that they have given us false data” said Jorge Alvarado, president of Bolivia’s state energy company Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) referring to the consultant DeGolyer & MacNaughton.
