Pakistan said that “terrorist elements” were infiltrating its territory from Afghanistan, rejecting allegations that it was sending militants to its neighbour. The comment was in response to charges by Afghan Foreign Minister Rangeen Dadfar Spanta on Sunday that the leaders of the Taliban are directing attacks inside Afghanistan from bases in Pakistan. “Elements hostile to Pakistan are using Afghan territory with impunity to carry out terrorist acts in our country,” foreign ministry spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam told a weekly news conference.
