Pro-Syrian Palestinian guerrillas kidnapped a Lebanese soldier following gunbattles in eastern Lebanon near the border with Syria that left several people wounded, police said. The soldier was snatched by guerrillas of the Damascus-based Palestinian group Fatah-Intifada founded by a militant known as Abu Mussa, they told AFP. Several people, including at least one Lebanese soldier, were wounded in the gunbattle in Wadi al-Asswad village as troops and militants traded fire with automatic weapons and rocket-propelled grenades, police said.
