CIA director Goss stuns with resignation
Porter Goss has abruptly resigned as CIA director, plunging the embattled US spy agency into new uncertainty as it seeks to rebuild from a series of intelligence failures in the war on terrorism and Iraq. No reason was given Friday for the resignation which was announced by President George W. Bush at the White House. US media reports said Goss will be replaced by Air Force General Michael Hayden, the current principal deputy director of national intelligence. Full Story
