A leading Honduran politician, Juan Ramon Salgado, has died after being shot by gunmen at his home in San Pedro Sula on Monday. Police say the attack was carried out by at least three unidentified men and may be linked to suspected drug gangs. Mr Salgado was the deputy leader of the governing Liberal Party. He is the first politician to be murdered in Honduras since the country’s return to democracy after nearly 20 years of military rule. Full Story
