US court finds Pakistani-American guilty of Al-Queda training
A Pakistani-American man was found guilty in a California court of undergoing Al-Queda training just hours after a mistrial was declared in his father’s trial in the same case. Jurors declared Hamid Hayat guilty of providing “material support” to the enemy by training in Pakistan as a terrorist and of lying about it to FBI agents, according to the US Attorney’s Office. The verdict came just hours after a district court judge in Sacramento, California dismissed jurors who couldn’t agree whether Hayat’s father, Umer, lied to the FBI about his son attending an Al-Qaeda camp in Pakistan.
