Suspected pipeline vandals have kidnapped a community leader in the Niger Delta for allegedly exposing their criminal activity to the police. The move appears to be a new dimension to pipeline vandalism. The victim, Mr. Ayola Avikpe is the spokesman of the Development Association of the Okpolo community in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State. The gangsters stormed Avikpe’s home and took him to the forest where he was left for dead after being mercilessly beaten and macheted. A search party that was put in place, however found him and rushed him to the hospital. Full Story
