Sri Lanka Tigers say govt to blame for violence

Sri Lanka’s Tamil Tigers called on mediator Norway on Tuesday to pressure the government to accept its conditions for returning to peace talks and said Colombo was fomenting violence by backing paramilitary groups. In an open letter to Norwegian peace envoy Jon Hanssen-Bauer, Tiger political wing leader S.P. Thamilselvan said the government was to blame for a wave of violence many fear could lead to the breakdown of a 2002 ceasefire and a return to civil war. Full Story
