Bombs explode in Rangoon
Five bombs exploded simultaneously in downtown Rangoon early Thursday, causing minor damage and no casualties, security personnel and eyewitnesses said. The bombs were detonated between 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. Thursday in Rangoon’s central districts of Kyautdada, Puzutaung and Lanmadaw. Initial reports said there were no casualties from the blasts, unlike the explosions that rocked Burma’s former capital almost a year ago. On May 7, 2005, three simultaneous explosions went off in Rangoon department stores, killing at least 19 people and injuring 162 others. Full Story
