Soldiers Escort Supplies to Katmandu
Armored military vehicles escorted a convoy carrying badly needed salt, bananas, potatoes and onions to Katmandu on Tuesday — the capital’s first supplies since a general strike and protests against the king emptied Nepal’s highways nearly two weeks ago. The 23 trucks and buses also brought kerosene and gas to ease shortages as drivers lined up at gas stations and shoppers searched for cooking fuel. Full Story
