France denies bombing Chadian rebels

France has denied claims it has bombed the strongholds of rebels trying to oust the Chadian President, Idriss Deby. Rebels from the United Front for Change, who accuse Mr Deby of being a dictator, have launched an assault on the capital, N’Djamena. The Government of Chad, which is a former French colony, claims to have thwarted the attack. Full Story
