US authorities have decided not to extradite two Venezuelans accused of 2003 bomb attacks in Caracas because they might be persecuted or tortured, one of their lawyers said. Former military officers Jose Antonio Colina and German Varela could be released soon, after more than two years in jail in the United States, said attorney Matthew Archambeault, adding that the final decision was in the hands of a US judge in Texas. The two are wanted in Venezuela for the 2003 bomb attacks on the Spanish and Colombian embassies in Caracas that caused damages but no casualties. Full Story
