Turkish Engineer Killed in Afghanistan

Gunmen believed to be linked to the Taliban movement shot dead a Turkish engineer in Afghanistan on Sunday, the governor of Nimroz Province said. It was the second attack in a week on foreigners working on a road project in the western part of the country. In a separate incident, gunmen on motorbikes who were also believed to be linked to the Taliban attacked a police post outside a jail in the southern city of Kandahar, wounding as many as five officers, said the provincial governor of Kandahar, Assadullah Khalid.
